Sources
Sources & honest context
It matters to me to keep three things apart: what is scientifically evidenced, what is only an analogy, and what is my personal experience.
Evidenced
- Granovetter, Mark S.: „The Strength of Weak Ties“. In: American Journal of Sociology, Band 78 (1973), Heft 6, S. 1360–1380. Genuine, widely cited network sociology — directly fitting the idea of weak and strong relations.
As an image, not as proof
- Heisenberg, Werner: „Physik und Philosophie“ (1959). I use the quote about the “complicated tissue of events” as a linguistic image for interconnectedness — not as a physics claim, and explicitly not in the sense of “observation creates reality”.
- W3C PROV: The distinction thing / activity / agent draws on the provenance standard I work with professionally.
My experience
The examples on smoking, dark phases, relationships and losing weight are lived examples of how I think — not proof and not treatment.
